Rushing into their 6th year! ‘Will spend peaceful days with fans from now on
The 5-member dance and vocal group, Da-iCE, has reached their 6th anniversary from their major debut. Their first best album will be released on June 6th. The latest single included in their works “FAKE ME FAKE ME OUT” is a bit different from their previous works, and it has an urban atmosphere that will make someone stop for a moment. The theme of the song is “the feeling of being distracted (KIZA), with lyrics touching masculinity. It’s the no.1 theme that melody A is conveying” (Ohno). In addition, the point which all the members were confident to bring up, the song’s choreography was done by the global dance performing group “s**t kingz”. “The formations using two mic stands is excellent. It was done with such coolness I haven’t yet encountered before” (Wada). “Sota won’t begin singing unless he raises up the fallen mic stand from the floor with one foot. With such difficult choreography they applied, we were all so tensed up then (laughs)” (Kudo).
The name called to your fans is “the sixth side (6-men)”. It is based on the meaning of Da-iCE itself, which is a die with six sides. For these reasons, the 6th year after your debut is very important to you. What are the happy moments, memories (cherished), from your past activities?
“The time when we were informed that we will be performing at Nippon Budokan we were dreaming of. It was the last day of our nationwide tour way back 2016. We were told and was surprised during our LIVE performance before the “sixth side” (Ohno). “Also, at the event held in Lazona Kawasaki on the day of our debut, we ranked 2nd in Oricon daily chart. Many fans celebrated with us. I was so glad we had a good start then” (Hanamura).
Looking through the length of time you’ve been through, there weren’t only happy ones. There were also group problems that happened in the past. And the cause of that…
“The problems of the group were always caused by our manager (laughs). There was this summer costume that cost the most in Da-iCE history. Our manager did the laundry the day before the event, but he washed the fluorescent yellow and white clothes together and turned them into marble color… It was so difficult then because we had to search for a new costume suddenly (Hanamura). “To add to that, our manager had 3 consecutive days of being late. He even had brought us juices that were expired. It was endless. However, the problems we encountered up to this time were always caused by our manager. We are at peace ~ (laughs) (Iwaoka).
The present goal of these 5 peaceful people is to make their biggest tour ever a successful one, which will begin on June 9th. They will accommodate over 70,000 people. “As for details, look forward to the appointed dates. We plan to have LIVE performances where one can enjoy the personality of each member. Please look forward to it!” (Hanamura).
