Take my sacrifice

I keep thinking of Three encountering the protocol of "if a cat is asleep on top of you, you cannot move"
Thank you for the ask @nonbinary-octopus. Ah, this happened. It was an accident, I swear!
Three come aboard at one of their stops, and SecUnit decides that if it has to catsit, so does Three.
Three's immediate reaction is, "There is no protocol for this" because of course there isn't. SecUnits aren't generally allowed to adopt small fauna, and pets aren't permitted in BE offices, regardless. It has never seen pets up close.
"Just sit here and don't move," SecUnit tells it. "It'll be fine. Cats like warm things. Unit especially."
"That's it?" Three looks as dubious as it sounds.
"Yeah. Yeah, that's protocol."
Three puzzles this out. "I have to move eventually."
"Only when the cat gets off your lap," SecUnit explains as momma cat comes over to sniff the newcomer and deems it safe for her babies.
Said babies are now seven weeks old and rambunctious as hell. At least their brakes are working well enough that they no longer plow into walls when they sprint. Unit -- kitten extraordinaire -- takes the opportunity to show off its claws as it climbs up Three and then nibbles on an ear. Unlike the humans, Three doesn't flinch or pull away.
The kitten is used to SecUnits, and Three smells a bit like its other primary caretaker. So, obviously, a more thorough analysis is absolutely vital.
SecUnit dusts itself off. "I'll be back in a bit."
And Three is left sitting on the floor of a cabin, surrounded by toys and furniture it doesn't recognize -- did ART print these in its recyclers? -- while small fauna use it for climbing practice. Mom cat dozes in the crook of its arm, and like SecUnit, Three ups its body temperature.
It makes a note of this new protocol it has learned. From now on, it will know better. When faced with furry, clawed clients it is to remain still and keep them warm. It decides it likes this and will perform this new protocol as frequently as permitted.
ART, meanwhile, decides that Three needs a kitten of its own. Now it's only a matter of which furry menace will bond with it first.

So I just accidentally stepped on my kitten and now I can’t find her to make sure she is okay and I’m crying
