“ An elf? ” he snarls “ And how would you think I would feel about that? You know what I think of their kind and I do not understand why kili or you would come into liking them. ”
“M-me?! I never said I liked their filthy species!” Sorry Glorfindel, he means nothing to your face by that but more to just placate hainuncle and hide the fact it is himself he’s talking about.
“They are elves I have no interest other than simple curiosity. I’ve seen them fighting and- I’m interested. I heard- I heard of one that killed a bolrog. Do you- do you believe it?” His cheeks dusted pink and not even his ears and mustache his it. Glorfindel the bolrog slayer- Fili was so not going to even hint they’d slept together. Nope. Not at all.

Mikah had always been an early riser. Normally up before dawn but staying out well past darkness. Even after recovering from her wounds and the small fever she had, Mikah was back on her feet like nothing was wrong...except that everything was wrong.
This place...wasn't her home and really, she stood out. Shy of Red, all the other elves were blond, stuffy and really needed to pull the sticks out of their asses. Mikah understood that pride was a major factor but damn, she was proud but not so much her spine was ridged. Some of them greeted her by her name...which didn't help that she couldn't name one for the life of her. Whatever fever she suffered before Red found her had really fucked with her.
"The dwarfs are here."
Mikah's train of thought stopped and her ears twitched toward the voices. Dwarfs? Racking her brain, Mikah couldn't remember seeing a dwarf before...maybe she had but who knew, she would meet one now.
"I can't believe that the Princess fell for one."
Curiosity turned quickly into anger and Mikah had her dagger in her hand before she realised it. She wanted to defend Red but part of her knew that it was a bad idea. Slowly putting the knife back, she tilted her head looking for the telltale sign of Princess.
Smiling once she spotted the flaming red hair, Mikah followed silently and couldn't help but feel giddy about meeting a dwarf. Peaking around the corner, Mikah smiled softly at the apparent odd couple, glad that Red hadn't noticed her. Blue eyes moved around the group of brawny men and came to rest on the leader...who met her gaze. Well...shit... so much for sneaky.
“I do believe you made that up.”
“No, Uncle, I swear it’s true,” Fili insisted, wide-eyed. “There’s something out in the woods! Gimli said he felt it grab his leg! We barely escaped with our lives!”
"Everything I did, I did for them." // didn't start with angst so we don't die XD

Only firelight lit their features, shadow and light playing upon the Company as they talked into the long night, Beorn’s lodging providing the first safety in many a jagged-breathed day. The relieved, relaxed at last Hobbit allowed his gaze to drift, following Thorin’s to rest on two enthused young Dwarves. His lips upturned, soft smile preceding his quiet response. “It’s not difficult to understand why you did...they’re worth it. They’ve always been quite kind to someone they must have found, must find quite foolish.”
Something I will appreciate always.
