post-endgame starter for @fryordie
In Loki’s mind, it was already over. He had managed to lose as convincingly as he could in the battle of New York, it would certainly be enough to convince the likes of Thanos and his children. All that was left to attend to was whatever ridiculous and possibly deadly version of ‘Asgardian Justice’ that he would be facing.
He wasn’t sure what it meant that he was more willing to face death than Thanos, but he was certain that it all amounted to fear.
All of it seemed to cut and dry until he saw the case that contained the Tesseract begun to move...then the cube was at his feet. It didn’t matter that he already had a plan, this one was better. He would vanish, he could hide with the power of the Tesseract, no Thanos, no punishment, he would be fine! He could exist outside of time!
He quickly knelt down and picked up the stone, using it and vanishing. Unfortunately, fate was less than kind and a sort of quantum disturbance pulled him through and when he was once more on stable ground, he wasn’t even in the same year as he had been before. Not only that but he was bombarded with a sudden flood of memories that he hadn’t had before, prison, his mother’s death, his own death, posing as Odin, Ragnarok, Hela, Sakaar...so much pain and uncertainty to add to his already impressive collection.
Odin was dead. Frigga was dead. The Warriors Three were dead and so was half of Asgard. Heimdal, dead.
All he had left was Thor, and he knew that despite everything, he had to find his brother. His only hope was that an older version of his brother would be more understanding and with that, he zeroed in on the god’s unique energy and used the Space Stone to transport to him.
He wound up in a bar...on another planet.
