hi guys, i made a gemsona for grian (he‘s a morganite!) ((yes this is steven universe))

my thought process behind this was that grian can summon illusions to show other people his artistic visions for buildings (or wuite literally anything), the eyes represent that and are also a little bit of a watcher reference. maybe when he gets stressed he summons illusions accidentally, but they‘re buildings that don‘t make sense, a bit like what the sand glass did in the show

Pearl has a bit of a different backstory in this AU! Our Pearl is originally a gift from White Diamond to Moonstone (Lady in the long purple dress). Moonstone is tasked with distributing and “editing” information throughout the gem empire. I’ll try to write a more thorough explanation soon but here are the gems:

Morganite: pinkish hair and explaining some fighting tactics to Pearl

Catseye: Green gem. She is a researcher who doesn’t really care to explain her findings.

Sunstone: Orange gem in bottom right. Similar to pearls in some functions, though more like toolboxes / batteries.

Smoked Opal: Cartographer / “explorer”? She is sent ahead of fleets as a disposal gem.
