Claustrophobia

Random MorMor headcanon, inspired from one of @spilling-the-moriartea​ ‘s fanfics (x)

-Sebastian is claustrophobic, after having been repeatedly locked in a small closet by his father when he was misbehaving as a child.

-The symptoms didn’t show up until his time in the army.

-He had to hide in a small hole in a trench with another soldier, which triggered a panic attack. He was afraid that he wouldn’t be able to climb back out and would suffocate.

-The army tried to treat him through in-vivo exposure (being directly exposed to his fear), it didn’t work great.

-Once he left the army, he would just bite the bullet whenever he was in a place that made him uneasy, and avoided any place that would cause a panic attack.

-He gets most anxious when he’s in an elevator, a cave or cellar, or a closet or cupboard (although that last one doesn‘t happen often).

-He didn’t mention it when he was recruited by Moriarty’s network, but of course Moriarty already knew because he got his file from the army.

-Moriarty was careful to never give him assignments where he would have to hide in a small space.

-One time he had to hide with Jim in a closet because some guys from a rival organization were trying to catch them. He had a panic attack but tried to fight it off (which did not work of course).

-Jim tried to help him breath, not very successfully, and eventually decided to just get out of the closet and kill the guys himself so that Sebastian could be in an open space without any danger.

-His brother Severin doesn’t know he’s claustrophobic and Sebastian doesn’t want to tell him, because he doesn’t want his little brother to think his role model is weak.

-Severin, of course, would not think that, but Sebastian doesn’t know it.

Wow this got longer than I expected... I actually learned some stuff about claustrophobia and panic attacks along the way, so that’s cool. Poor Seb has a pretty shitty life (I usually give him PTSD when I write about him...)

Sherlock and Moriarty both donate to the same animal rescue shelter. Once said shelter hosted a fundraising event that they both decided to attend. It was…….. awkward. In the end they both signed up for joint adoption over a cat. They named him Sebastian Moran and he stays with Jim. However Sherlock regularly pays them visits to pet and feed Seb.

Sebastian worked under JM for years before meeting her in person. He had to guess for every bit of information he got. He guessed she was a woman by her texts and that she was Irish by her slang. The name Moriarty was going around, that's how he guessed. When they met, he wasn't given any freebies, either. He became her live-in and lover without knowing her first name, taking to calling her boss, kitten, and J. Any time he thought of a name beginning with J, he took a stab. "Jenna? Jemma? Jennifer? Jane? Janice?" "No, nope, ew, not even close, are you even trying?"
