There's a parallel of how Metal sonic is always the same as the evil robotic copy to sonic (in the series sonic is changed, metal sonic is always the same no matter what) and he's not really allowed to develop beyond that vs Silver's personality fluctuating in each of his appearance where it can range from serious survivor to nice softie to being just chill version of sonic (since his character/personality is different depending on who's writing him and how writers can't decide what he is like)

There's also how both of them are introduced in games that involves time travel

You know, sometimes writing is mental and emotional torture…

Yes, today is one of my writing days, and I’m procrastinating (that’s why I’m on here 🤣).

I’ll just put this song up here and tag @safeuphigh @marlowe-zara @tickldpnk8 and @rey-jake-therapist because you’re the people most likely to understand what this is about, and I just need to vent.

It’s them in a nutshell, it’s everything in a nutshell, in so many ways and from so many angles. If you listen to the whole thing, you’re probably going to hate me 😩

I’m seriously contemplating turning the sequel into a “choosing your own adventure”-type thing that goes two ways, because whichever way I turn it, it’s either unsatisfactory or unfair or it absolutely kills me. Sometimes all three…

I know what I wanted to do with it, but I’m getting pulled away from it and when I’m trying to stay the course, it tells me, “No, not gonna happen, you know how this should go, don’t you?”

It suuuuuucks!

And now you know why I’m keeping myself afloat with silly one-shots and crack fics, because otherwise, I’ll just lose the plot. Quite literally…

Getting past Knuckles is the hard part. That's why it's a much more regular occurrence in the Morpheus Shadow AU, where Morpheus (Shadow) is the guardian alongside Monarch (Metal Sonic)
