I think that EAxis gets caught up on themes for expansions. With Get Together, they centered the whole expansion around the clubs.  I bet a small minority of simmers actually use that feature.  That expansion could have had so many other cool elements to it, but they just got bogged down on the clubs so no inspiration could spread towards other aspects for the game.

In the Cats and Dogs trailer, I saw a lot of interaction for the dogs, but not really any for cats.  But all the same, at the start of their brainstorming group, they knew cats and dogs were forerunners of a Pets expansion pack.  That is where they placed all their chips and did not spread it towards others, like small animals, etc. After a year (or however long they have built this expansion), that is all they had: cats and dogs. Since the demand is so high for pets and they had to show something at Gamescom, so why not the Cats and Dogs expansion?

I do think they could add stuff packs and game packs to it.  I would not doubt that is their game plan.  A farm pack would be interesting.  Horses could be added then and maybe cows and sheep?  They would probably be more like objects, like infants, with just a few choice animations,  but it would be something I think a lot of simmers would enjoy.

Does it give you an error or does it just never open? If it’s latter, have you cleared your caches lately? In my experience, Homecrafter can be a little more sensitive to cache size than the game is. But perhaps that’s just because I have a metric crap-ton of walls/floors...

I always think “clearing your caches” sounds vaguely dirty...but that’s probably my dirty mind speaking. Or thinking, as the case may be...
