happy morro day yall!!

it really snuck up on me and i thought id have enought time to make more than one peice but alas the odds were not in my favor.

anywayy i chose to do an au piece from the prompt list so heres Morro in my hc godteir!! (a prince of breath)

It’s August 12, which was declared Morro Day by pythorsbum, serpentfever, morro-dish-soap last year! In honor of my favorite boy, I decided to redraw my first drawing of him. I present to you 2019 (?) vs 2022 Morro in my style

I changed some of the colors as you can see, but overall, I’d say I’ve improved quite a bit.

Anyway I was planning on doing something else for Morro day but I got busy, so have this concept I came up with where Morro’s curse works like Eda’s curse in the Owl House, in that it turns him into a terrifying monster every now and then.

For context I’m not sure if it’s ever officially stated in the show, but if it isn’t, I hc that the reason Morro ended up in the Cursed realm was because he was cursed. A lot of people tend to view the Cursed realm as the Ninjago equivalent to hell, which while it no doubt has the torture aspect down, I think the Cursed realm is more specifically for people who have been cursed, regardless of whether they’re good or evil.

The green stripe in his hair is what represents the curse, because I doubt he had the money to pay for hair dye. How exactly Morro ended up with a curse, who knows. Maybe he stole from the wrong people as an orphan trying to get by, or maybe it’s one of those ancestral curses that was laid on one of his distant ancestors by a powerful entity they managed to piss off. Would certainly stick to the theme of things happening to Morro outside of his control (First the green ninja destiny tomfoolery and now this)
