Alright so here's the commission for @mossybrows sorry it took so long! I wanted to do some development and designing first and here is the result of my original Straw Hat. Her name is Jeanne Lawrence (loosely based off of John Laurens). She is a very gay abolitionist and military tactician!

in response to @mossybrows asking if i like the op movies (i didn’t want to reblog my own post bc i’m already taking up too much of y’all poor peoples’ dashes ;__;) yes, absolutely, i love them!!  

i like the movies in part because we all know they’re not canon and have no bearing on the actual story, they’re just a good time >///<  and i agree, i find it a lot of fun to see the straw hats in different cool/funny outfits, and to see them in more crisp/differing animation styles!

i think one of one piece filler’s greatest strengths is its ability to show more of the straw hats’ downtime or more of them just...chillin together idk, which is often present in the movies/specials.  i completely do not reproach oda for not having as much of that in canon- the series is long enough and he has enough shit left to cover already- but it’s nice to get it somewhere, and to generally just get more full-crew interaction!

i mean, my fave movie is movie 6 (baron omatsuri and the secret island) and while i completely disagree with....i forget who it was, some youtuber i watch who claimed it’s a good intro to one piece, because it’s so off stylistically and tonally from the actual series, but that’s precisely why i love it!  imo if it’s not gonna be canon anyway, why not have fun with it and let director put their own spin on things so we can experience op in a different light.

I know that it’s been hell for anyone following us with irregular postings and everything. For A Heart Chapter One

Hey, @cyriusli here and I am super excited to be able to announce that the first chapter of For A Heart is now live and available for you to read! You can find it in the link above on my Ao3 account!

This AU, as well as working with @mossybrows has been fantastic and I haven’t been this excited about a project in a long time! I have always loved Ancient Egypt and was even more excited that I got to incorporate my two favorite gods from the culture.

Working with Mossy is always fun, and it’s been really awesome to see her grow more and more excited for this as she’s learned about the different gods and lore. We have incorporated some of the old lore, of course twisting it to fit our story, as well as just making some things up. As always, there is some base truth to my writing, even if you have to search to find it.

Mossy’s art is simply fantastic! Same as with the writing, her choice of outfits and coloring is based off of actual outfits of the time, as well as colors that the Ancient Egyptians had access to. Of course, there are liberties taken there as well, but there is also an authentic feel to her art.

Either way, I know both of us are really excited to bring this to you and we hope you greatly enjoy it!
