Summer sleaze and the hum of cicadas, dripping sap oozes on the branch and you are my sea shell on the beach waiting, open like a hug open like heart surgery. I curl into you, your pearl. Is this love ill-fated? Does it matter right now while pools of water and sand stand down for us? Where we are the gods for once?
Can a mute sigh? my lungs sink in the murky balance of body and water. Why don’t I float like the buoys or other children who get praised for floating just so? I float every night in my dreams on clouds, on water, on beasts.

I want my tongue to orgasm from speech
