I just love that women will always find a way to honor Our Mother. Even all these centuries later we still burn incense, pour out libations, and bake cakes for Her. Not even the most patriarchal of religions can fully eradicate our dedication to and our adoration of Our Mother.

Why Filianism?

I will likely re-write this post at some point in the future as my reasoning develops. As of right now, though, I like Filianism because: - the metaphysical perspective is so heavily emphasized - love is such a big part of the religion - God and the Divine being feminine really resonates with me personally - Déa, which is what we call God, has such a...calming, loving, motherly, joyful energy - The Clear Recital, our scripture, although in my opinion imperfect, is relatively easy to read and understand (or has been so far) - Filianists believe in universal salvation, which is something that I’ve always believed in - Filianism doesn’t claim to have a monopoly on truth. It only claims to be one iteration of The Truth which can be seen throughout the religions of many different cultures - In reading Filianist ideas, I feel like I’ve gained and will continue to gain a much better understanding of the metaphysical world (http://www.mother-god.com/ has really helped with that, although I don’t agree with every idea on that website 100%) If you have any questions, don’t be afraid to ask!

A project for my last art class before graduation, I wanted my final project to represent just how I feel about the universe's creator, La Morena(The Black Woman). Words can't explain how much I love them, so I put it into a picture. Pakhet is an Egyptian GoDDess of war. She fights for what's right, just like an honorable Black Woman. Het Heru is the Mother giving birth to the sun, much like how a mother gives birth to her son. The wandering stars that appear as planets are scattered chakras representing dual energy (male & female). Many more beautiful symbols are hidden in the beauty of this painting. Can you detect them all? Nut- Is one of the oldest deities among the Egyptian pantheon, with her origin being found on the creation story of Heliopolis. A mother goddess of sorts, she is said to have given birth to Horus, the sun. Pakhet- In mythology, Pakhet, meaning she who scratches (also spelt Pachet, Pehkhet, Phastet, and Pasht) is a lioness goddess of war. Het-Heru- A charming, pleasant and attractive woman who is eager to please and be loved in return.
