Our Lady is exalted among the daughters of Heaven. Radiant Princess, Star of the Sea Robed in celestial light.

She abases the cruel and proud And hearkens to the plea of the lowly. The foe who denies Her Godhead She overthrows But blessèd is the humblest of Her servants.

She delivers the captive into Her care And takes the hand of the fallen. Firm-fixèd is the destiny Of the monarch who honours Her name.

May the whole world praise Thee, compassionate Princess; May Thy glory be told of in all the earth. Let them exalt Thy dominion And Thy valiant courage And glorify Thy holy Name.

Have mercy on Thy servant who gives Thee blessing And take her hand in need and suffering. In illness and distress, give her the gift of life. May she go forever in joy and delight To magnify Thy holy Name Before all the peoples of the world.

The Maid took up the great Moon-Axe, whose silver blades were as the crescents of the moon, in symbol of Her light, and went alone into a desert place. And, knowing that She had not the light of Her Mother upon Her, malefic keres gathered about and beset Her: keres of fear and of dread isolation, and every sort of restriction. For the waxing and the waning of twelve moons reigned the Maid. And after the twelfth moon had appeared in the sky, the Mother of All Things called Her Daughter to Her, and spoke to Her, saying: You have made the whole earth fruitful and brought My light to all the world, have You not satisfaction in Your work?

And the Maid replied, saying: I have brought Your light to many places, and yet a place there is which remains ever in darkness; a place beneath all places, in which there is no light. And the ways of entrance to that place are many, for there is a place at the bottom of each earthly soul into which Your light cannot shine.

And Her Mother asked of Her: Do You know what thing it is that You must do if You will bring My light into every place?

And the Maid replied: I know what it is that I must do.

For She knew that She must descend into the nether regions, giving up the Divine light and going down into that place wherein is no light, but only the profoundest darkness. And this was Her taking on of fate upon Herself.

In my spiritual journey I have found myself in a surprising place. I spent some time to contemplate and explore my spiritual practice on my own in a more personal and experimental way. I found that my practice was constantly changing and I started to feel like so much was unnecessary.. as a witch priestess I had so many procedures and words memorized for ritual.. my time spent working within a coven in this way was profound and important in my growth.. but now these practices have fallen away. My altar has become very minimalist when before I had many tools, jewels, and robes.. words. I have uncovered a profound silence within myself.. that which remains, that which is eternal. At my altar there is no depiction of Dea, there is a black mirror instead. I could never find the the right statue or image that seemed right to/for me.. but I felt an affinity for Dea Beyond Form. Something about this aspect of Dea called to me, felt so True to me.. held some Mystery out to me, just out of grasp.. so I pursued it.. and now there are no faces, no words to explain..

Can I still call myself a Filianist or Deanist? I don't know.. I still feel a love and at home with Filianism/Deanism/Madrianism.. but it feels like I've been away for a long time and have changed a lot. The symbolism still speaks to me and inspires my heart.. but nowadays words seem so noisy to me.. what matters most to me right now is pursuing a life of harmony and to be a positive influence to those around me. My hope is to smooth out my edges, to spend more time, words, thoughts, and efforts on helping others and reducing suffering in this world.

Direction of this blog

Those who have kept up with this blog during the past seven years will note that its posts  have generally been of three themes. All have been related to a basic De'anic theology that God is fundamentally Creatress, Mother, and Queen. During this time I have shared various hymns, psalms, poems (whatever one choses to call them) based the adoration, worship and submission to God / Dea as such. I have also discussed some some of the issues that have developed from within the Independent De'anic / Filianic community. 

An important sub-theme of this discussion have been various articles in which I expressed the belief that an Isian form of De'anism in which the Egyptian Goddess Isis as seen  by Greco-Roman authors such as Apuleius and Isidorus is compatible with Deanic belief. I expressed my hope that a form monotheistic or more properly a henotheistic devotional worship of Isis might develop as a positive form of De'anism in the future. Of course along  side these have been articles, I have reblogged the posts of others which I have enjoyed or thought to be of interest. 

Currently I have renewed work on this blog and wish to explain as the blog will be in relation to these past activities. I will continue posting the hynms which I call the Psalms of Thea. Hopefully I will be posting them more often that I have in the past. I will also be discussing issues of De'anism particularly the need for the development of groups for a common face to face worship of Dea as necessary for the survival of the movement. 

On the other hand all of my efforts to envision the Egyptain Goddess Isis as Thea will cease. This will not be because my adoration of Dea as Isis has in any  way ended. It has not. It is because I now think that my efforts in this direction are simply futile at this time. Further more I no longer believe that any attempt to push the

idea of any particular  God or Goddess as a major personification of Dea, whether that deity is Isis, the Virgin Mary, Sophia, Inanna etc. is of any value at this situation in time.
