At Apple Arts Studios, we always enjoy trying new ideas and experimenting with technology. Recently, we brought a new Head-Mounted Capture system into our studio. With this setup, we can capture actors’ expressions and movements in a much more natural way.
Usually, a camera records the actor from the front. But with this system, the camera moves along with the performer. Because of that, every reaction an actor gives — whether it’s a smile, a shout, a surprise, or an emotional moment — gets captured very clearly.
Capturing Real Expressions
The most interesting part of this system is that it captures real human expressions. Even small facial movements are recorded. Things like eyebrow movements, eye reactions, and subtle facial changes play a big role in storytelling.
These small details help characters feel more realistic and alive.

While testing this system in our studio, we captured many interesting performances. Whether someone was doing intense acting, giving a funny reaction, or expressing something dramatic, the camera captured every movement smoothly.
