Looking to Mount Patterson and Mountains of the Continental Divide (Icefields Parkway) by Mark Stevens Via Flickr: A roadside stop between Petyo Lake and Waterfowl Lakes. Here I turned to look to the south and caught a view of Mount Patterson just above the nearby evergreen trees. What I loved about this view was how the greens were such a contrast to the blue skies and clouds above.

Spring in the Canadian Rockies (Banff National Park) by Mark Stevens Via Flickr: I've been to Petyo Lake many times over the decades, but it had always been over the summer months when glacial flour brings out vibrant turquoise color. Having come from Austin and the Texas area where May weather has more of a warmer temperature with flowers and all in bloom, it was a surprise to see all the snow still on the ground in the Canadian Rockies. Then I saw Peyto Lake with more of a blue color from the still partially melted ice and snow. Beautiful! What a beautiful spring day in the Canadian Rockies!

A Stroll in the Woods (Icefields Parkway) by Mark Stevens Via Flickr: Here I used a wide angle view to capture not just Peyto Lake and the mountains beyond, but also to include much of the young tree growth and wildflowers. Kind of like including a little bit of the foreground to add to the overall view. I used a portrait orientation to bring that out even more.
