First weekend of the year: Forest View + Mount Samat

It’s like an annual thing everytime my Tita Lei is in the Philippines, we’ll go to Subic, Zambales for a weekend. Last year, we stayed in Vista Marina Hotel & Resort, it’s beside The Lighthouse and behind Subic Bay. For this year..

Saturday. We stayed in Forest View Leisure Residences. We first roam around the area then indulge ourselves in the swimming pool area around 5 pm (didn’t wanna burn our skin). There’s also a basketball court and trampoline. We tried jumping in the trampoline, guess who’s unlucky and got her head hit? Me. After the outside activities, we played games, exchanged gifts and ate a lot in our place. 

Sunday. Before we all comeback to Manila, we trekked Pilar, Bataan to Mount Samat. Going up to see the Mount Samat National Shrine and Mount Samat Cross is a challenge as the place is really steep but you can choose to walk using the trails or ride a car. We, younger ones, chose to use the trail and our titas rode the car. To reach Mount Samat Cross’ top, there’s a allotted elevator but it’s not working the time we came so we just picnicked around the area.
