i was thinking the other day abt how it would be easy to just hate elon musk and donald trump and renounce everything that they (will) say and do, but i don’t think any of that will be helpful. i think it would be more meaningful to humanize them, to treat them like they’re human, to acknowledge that they have humanity inside of them. it’s only when you’re treated like someone who has feelings and thoughts and is impacted by others that you start to really feel. that’s when you begin to experience guilt and sadness and disappointment and love and consideration for others. when you’re held accountable for your actions not from a place of spite or hatred, but from a place of genuine concern and empathy, it moves you. seeing people (or treating them like they’re human) has led to growth every time i’ve done it.. with people both young and old.
