Well, this is tricky. It says characteristics rather than, say, talents. Um. Okay. I’m empathetic. I can easily mentally place myself in others’ shoes and therefore I strive to do things for other people and I listen to different viewpoints and recognise my own privilege. I also don’t think you should have to imagine yourself in someone else’s situation in order to do the right thing.

I love learning and I’m willing to change, even though change is terrifying. 

I’m pretty self-aware. That can be a curse as much as a blessing.

Though it could be they have experienced abuse and see something of their personal abuser in Thorin which makes them interpret everything he does as abusive due to the association, so they don’t really see Thorin, they see someone else?
