It's interesting to me how much of Rain World's speedrun movement tech was intended by design. eslides, eijumps, wall-pounces, pole hops, maybe even vaults, were intentionally designed aspects of the game's movement system, and even most tech that wasn't necessarily designed is still non-exploit emergent behavior. And yet a casual player will never see any of this. a casual player will maybe learn to backflip, roll, or slide. The only movement the game ever expects from the player is a pounce and wall jumps. it's so strange to me. The game's movement system is so very deep with so much emergent behavior and none of it will be touched by 99% of the player base. why design all this and not intend it to be used
