Newly elected judge Evelyn (Kerri Kenney-Silver) has just been placed in her first courtroom and is excited to make her mark on the justice system. Only problem is, her courtroom is in the heart of Las Vegas, where most of her cases involve ornery gamblers, unpaid caricaturists, and alcoholic magicians.

Recently retired couple Sue and Andy (Jane Fonda, Harrison Ford) are finally living out their dream of opening a cozy inn off the coast of northern Maine. But after only a few months of business, the two realize that attracting guests to their remote location is a bigger challenge than they expected. On the verge of going under, a request to rent out the entire space for a wedding thankfully comes through. The only catch? The client is a rock and roll partier known for heavy drinking and wild stunts. Oh, and he’s also their son.

When looking for stories to adapt into screenplays, I always go back to one of Canada's most underrated writers: Hugh Garner. I like his stories because he focuses on real people with real narratives not Govrmnt propaganda or style over substance. I often compare him with Hemingway or Hubert Selby Jr. precisely because he is able to give so much realness to his characters. You might not like some of them but they're real all right !
