Adventures of moving barns...
*Looking at new barn*
Me: So he can't be next to mares or he'll squeal and kick the crap out of the stall.
Barn manager: Ok, no problem
*Day of move in, his new stall is next to a mare*
Me: Hey, remember he can't be next to a mare...
Barn manager: Oh well, she isn't super moody it should be fine we'll try it.
*two weeks later*
Barn manager: Yeah so, he kicked the crap out of the stall so we moved him.
Me: Did I not...did I not say... *facepalm*
Fixed a date for our move!
The barn owner and me agreed on the 13th so he’ll have time to move some of the other horses about so Attila can have the nicest stall. Now I just need to talk to my trainer’s barn’s owner so I won’t have to pay for board anymore after I’m gone, everything else should be settled by now.
I’m curious to see how much stuff I don’t actually need to have at the barn I’ve accumulated over the past year. Probably not that much to be honest.

Pros and Cons
Current Barn Pros: -22/7 Turn out (in for feeding, or in case of poor weather) -Small and quiet, I am often alone which I do like -Been there 5 years, comfortable, know the people, horses, and routines -Full sized dressage arena, and roundpen
Current Barn Cons: -No trail access -Turn out is small (large enough, but still small) -I have a lot of anxiety related to BO (don't like being there at the same time as her for many reasons)
Potential New Barn Pros: -24/7 turnout with shelter -Larger turnout -Trails! -Indoor arena, plus multiple outdoor riding areas -Heated water in barn
Potential New Barn Cons: -Much larger and more people around including kids (maybe not a con, just a change? chance to make friends?) -No designated stall in case of poor weather -Slightly farther drive (5 min)
They're the same price, but potential new barn has many more amenities. It is a new place but seems like it could be a good fit for us. If I didn't have to tell my current people I was leaving it would be so easy to move. I think that says everything. I also think all of the cons are things I could easily get used to and are more just new changes rather than major cons. idk.

I am so freaking excited right now!!!! So the Ranch I went to look at is gonna work out and Colt is gonna be literally the property behind my school. Im getting way cheap board because I’m made a deal with the owner to train his green morgan mare for board and I don’t have to look for a job anymore because this counts.
Colt comes tomorrow!!!! I already but all my tack into the trailer and now im just going psycho bc I really want it to be now so that I can just get the move over with and Cut my East Bay ties. I don’t have any money and this is so hard rn because I feel so bad asking for anything, but I need to get grain, and containers for it..... plus I REEEEEAAAAAAAAALLLLLYYYYY want to spoil my boy with everything. I want to make the move smooth and I so desperately want everything to be perfect because I’ve wanted this for a really long time.
The tack room is bones as of right now and the one girl Im sharing it with is only borrowing the owner’s tack so it’s confined to her English and Western saddles, bridles, and pads. Im super excited and anxious as hell for this move and 11 am tomorrow cannot come soon enough. I’m going to need to take like half a bottle of my drugs to even THINK about sleep and I haven’t slept more than 4 hours between the last two nights.
But like do I really need polo wraps..... no, I probably do not, but now I have an English saddle and.........I want them. I want a pair of riding gloves that aren’t horrible to try for the winter also. I also need a girth that will fit Colt for the English saddle because I only have one for Kat (I didn’t even get to use it.... It came the day she left). And I need the grain and I need the containers and I feel like I’m just being needy.
