Aaaaaaaaand (reading) v2.3 is done (sans one frame); still getting used to the organization of the code (and whether it's right or not) but I don't think the current setup is that complicated or redundant in any places.

The next step will be figuring out how much of this can be reused to handle v2.4 (and, ideally, v2.2, as well).
