Your latest makes me think of how a lot of the irl magical hero, irl chuunibyou, and irl demigod communities on Tumblr are anti-endo. Like... you believe you're literally living Percy Jackson and going to end up in Camp Halfblood... or you believe you can astral project and magical girl transform and fight evil... or you believe you are a million year old demon with blood related magic in a relatively human-ish form... but someone being plural without a disorder is where you draw the line of what's really possible? And I say this as someone who really likes these communities and wants to be in them! I adore these communities! But I can't be openly myself in them or join the main Discord servers for them because they are resoundingly anti-endo and do not welcome any endos into their more closed spaces at all! It sucks!
I just don't grasp how one can believe in such fantastical things (as someone who likes to push the boundaries of what is possible metaphysically/spiritually)... and also be anti-endo.
(I specifically tried to make up a fake example of an irl chuunibyou because I don't want to accidentally target anybody specific. If someone out there exists that fits the more specific examples, I am not talking about them!)
you bring up a really good point! i 100% agree. being that im part of the kin community myself, i find it more than bizarre how common it is to *lack* acceptance. we dont even get any official research for this practice. i got quite literally kicked out of a home and put back in my abusive household because i kin. i wish i was making that up.
and the point of me saying that is because kinning is a pretty unbelievable thing. if you can believe and practice in that, you can spare some thought for endogentic systems. wnd whats twice the salt in the wound is many, many of these kin blogs are also DID havers. like the community collectively needs to be nicer imo
side thought; i know some people use kin to mean "i relate to this character a lot" but in this instance, im speaking specifically about (what i know to be the original definition) the reincarnation and character-in-the-flesh kinning.
