Punzie was not only a good guide dog, she was also very good at remembering people and their smells. So, after they had gotten settled into their apartment, Jinae had decided to put that nose to good use. She took Punzie out into the lobby of the apartment building and told her to find dad. At first, she had feared that it had been too long since Punzie last saw him, but then she seemed to catch the scent and began leading her owner toward it.

When Punzie stopped, Jinae reached out and felt the smooth wood of an apartment door. So she knocked. And someone answered. But not just anyone.

"Dad!" Jinae recognized him the moment he spoke, putting out a hand to find him before throwing her arms around him and squeezing tight. "I'm looking for you, silly! Punzie tracked your scent. Isn't she amazing?"

he laughs when jinae explodes with enthusiasm, already opening his arms to receive her in a big bear hug. he squeezes her close to him for a few moments, both delighted and excited to find her here. at least she had finally arrived. her mother had let him know she’d be coming - she hadn’t become entirely shit at her job since she started to drink, at least - but he had no idea when exactly.

“punzie, look at you, how amazing!” he praises the sweet pup when his daughter tells him about her skill, reaching out a hand to give the dog a good petting as well, its excited wagging making him laugh lightly.

“it’s so good to see you, baby,” he tells jinae when he straightens properly again, looking down at her with a wide smile on his features. he leans in to press a kiss to her hair and then easily picks her up, twirling her around once while making sure it won’t make the dog swing along as well.

“have you found your apartment yet? did you settle in well? is there anything else you need? something else i can do for you? have you eaten? let me make you some food!” he’s excited beyond words as he puts her back on her feet and then takes her by the hand so he can guide her inside of his apartment.

"That is a noble purpose," the goddess said of the young woman's aspirations. "Is that why you chose dispatch?" she continued, offering the operator a pastry from the box she had brought from Black Forest to share with first responders. "Or are you perhaps interested in becoming an EMT and this grants you further insight into your profession?"

Angela had been strong for far too long. She had so much on her plate, from motherhood, past trauma unresolved, and running her business. She had been far too good at hiding her stress, pushing it down below the surface so that she could address it later. But, later never came until it was at the point of no return. And, she had hit that. 

With Siwoo at Charlotte’s place, the demigoddess had hidden herself at the beach. As tears rolled down her cheeks, it was the sweet, young woman who had happened upon her. Angela tried her best to hide her emotions, though the other was far too wise to her facade. 

“I wish there was only a part I hid.” She admits quietly. It was not enough to reveal her horrid past, but maybe, it could help ease her stress. “Please. Your night shouldn’t be spent here. I’ll be fine.”

It was his lunch time an guessed it was hers too. They were on a pretty bench in the nicest looking park he'd ever seen, their respective foods beside them when they got into talking. She worked as an emergency dispatch operator and Carter couldn't help but feel admiration - he always did for anyone, but it shone brighter for those that worked in helping others. Then she hit him with that phrase and he nodded, bit into his sandwich as he thought about her words.

Even though he was privileged, there were parts of his life he resented. He was privileged but perfection was forced upon him, and at the time he felt like it was the price of the life he had. "That's a really nice way of thinking. I think you're entirely right - sometimes losing our path is what we need to find it again. Maybe sometimes we don't even know we're lost in the first place."

Esther had been caught with tears spilling down her cheeks. Even despite the beautiful day, she had been struggling still with the betrayal from her ex, and the large change of scenery had just been stressful, even if there had been some fun moments. So, when Jinae sat beside her, she felt a tinge of guilt that the other, who had their own struggles, had to be concerned with her.

"Oh, I know. I'm just having a silly moment." She states, slipping out a silk handkerchief from her purse. Taking a moment, she delicately dabbed her cheek, sniffling as she tried to compose herself. "I'm sorry. I've taken up enough of your day. Please, don't let me be a burden."

“Hm? Of course,” Nathaniel answered without hesitation, hooking Fluffy’s leash to his wrist before picking up what she had dropped. “You’re carrying a lot there,” he added as he held out a hand, “Do you live nearby? I can help you take them to your door. Or your building, if you would prefer.”

"Well, um..." she started, brows furrowed as she tried to find her words. She thought that perhaps she had remembered incorrectly, the embarrassment bringing a flush to her cheeks. "I thought... last week you said that you liked peach jelly and cake," Aura explained, holding out the bag, "So I made you a peach jelly cake. But um... did I remember wrong?"

Angela had heard the commotion from the other side of the room, and she had already been in route in hopes to stop it from happening. Yet, she had been far too late. Someone nearby Jinae had seemed to loose their footing and trip, spilling and shattering one of their glasses.

As she moved to help the person up, she heard Jinae's sweet offer. A soft smile fixed her lips, but she shook her head. "No, no. I cannot have you helping." She reassures the other, taking a moment to sit down the guest.

"It is very sweet of you, but I have this handled. You should enjoy your drink."
