At some point Jacq carried mer! Volo around on land to show him beyond the shore.
He does get a bit carried away excitedly explaining all the stuff on land that he thinks would interest his new companion, that he forgets that Volo needs water until he starts raspily pleading for it and he's just panicking and trying to rush his poor drying merman to the nearest source of water he can find 😭
