I was looking to read a good yarn, something colourful and cinematic, and this called out to me. It's been probably 12 years since I first read it, and I've had a copy of it signed by Auster himself in that time. A memorable tale that was still attention stealing, and somehow comforting to read despite the unpleasant and dangerous real world that forces itself on these fairytale characters.
