Stranger things finale spoilers

Not only were the duffer brothers too scared to kill anyone off (besides Kali but i dont even feel like there was any risk or reward with killing her off) (they literally introduced her so they could bring her back and kill her), but the only person who ended the show with visible scars is Mrs Wheeler yes you could argue Hopper has scars from Russia and there's a chance that Will has a burn scar from when Nancy and them were trying to get the mind flair out of him, but seriously six years of fighting other worldly monsters and only a few people have minor injurys/scars??? Also, I guess Mr Wheeler probably also has scars, but still...

Just putting some thoughts. What if Ted is a veteran. Like, that would explain why his personality shifted from this dickhead moron high school jock to an average boring working man. Because my dude has an PTSD, and it would also explain why he doesn’t want any guns in his house. It kind of makes sense, isn’t it?

Anyway, I’m tired and I don’t know what I’m doing but I’ll leave it here.

Ok but. I'm thinking about "we're all patriots here" in season 1 vs Ted yelling at the 'news' on tv in the season 4 finale. What if Ted doesn't actually trust the government? Because, his trusting government lines are always said in a way where we're supposed to dismiss them as ironic untruths, but what if he knows they're ironic untruths? What if he's just staying under the radar?

We've noticed that Ted gets PTSD from the fireworks (or in any case reacts strongly to them) in season 3. This, plus his patriotism, has made some people think he was a soldier. And, maybe he was in the army. But remember how Hopper was in the army, mixing up agent orange for the government? A soldier, but involved in things other than war.

MKULTRA, and experiments like them, weren't looking to expand the mind for kicks. They were looking to create superhuman spies and soldiers. Army weapons. It's very possible that Ted, an army man, was experimented on to be made 'stronger', but it 'backfired', leaving him in a state similar to Terry, but not nearly as severe. But like how Hopper wasn't affected by agent orange himself, Ted being experimented on didn't change him personally. But it did change his children.

Now, I'm not thinking that Nancy has powers. But Mike, and Holly? They definitely have a weird connection to the upside down, Mike especially.
