since tom was in the most recent chapter, i think now would be a good time to discuss a particular theory i have about him:

tom might still be alive

point 1! tom is one of the few characters (particularly of the backstory parental figure) to not die on screen. the last we saw him, he was still alive, and we haven’t been given any info that contradicts that (other than the fact that we haven’t seen him in the present)

point 2! tom was to be executed for building the pirate king’s ship, and that was the crime he was ultimately arrested for. however, spandam was the one who orchestrated that. and spandam merely wanted to arrest tom in order to get at the blueprints. his goal was to use imprisonment and torture as leverage to get tom to give up their whereabouts. so, it’s more likely that tom was imprisoned rather than executed. 

a caveat: it’s possible that tom was still executed after his initial imprisonment. spandam may wield a lot of political power, but he is still a lackey to the government. it’s possible that someone above him decided that, after four years, spandam had run out of time and had tom executed. and that’s why spandam waited four years after arresting tom to send the cp9 agents in. 

point 3! but there’s a likely chance that tom wasn’t executed. after all, tom is the only link to the blueprints that spandam was sure about. he had no idea what tom did with the blueprints before his arrest. so executing the only person with that connection would not be smart. 

point 4! we also haven’t heard of an execution. tom was arrested for building the pirate king’s ship. and the government has made other executions relating to the pirate king public, so it’s likely that tom’s execution should have been public as well. and yet, no such thing has been mentioned. that makes be doubt that an execution took place at all. 

but that’s all speculation. and while i would like it be true, meta-wise, it wouldn’t make much sense. there just doesn’t seem to a place or time in the current story for something like that to happen. there’s already a long list of things that unresolved or need be addressed that take priority.

but it’s still fun to theorized about ∠( ᐛ 」∠)＿

Hey guys, Ammy here again bringing you some wonderful and exciting news from the world of Who is Mr. Tom! Mr. Laicini has been sharing some wonderful news to me as of late, and I can’t wait to tell you more. As we know of right now, the crew and some of the cast is still working on their new full feature-length movie, ANTRUM. Alongside ANTRUM, the crew is working on perfecting their pitch to make Mr. Tom either it’s own movie or even get a chance to make a NETFLIX original series. How bomb is that? I give complete props to such an amazing and talented guy, and same goes for his friends and crew.  I am personally so proud of these guys.
