Benny:Ma, what are you doing?
Mrs Sharp:Cooking.
If I wait for you to take me, I'll starve to death.
Benny: You're making me feel guilty.
Mrs Sharp: I know.
It's mother's day.
You celebrate your way, I'll celebrate mine

I love how Cat not only thinks this is dishonest, but apparently tells Mrs Sharp so
So Mrs. Sharp knew what Coven Street planned - meaning this was public knowledge on Coven Street, not just a plan by the Nostrum brothers that they hadn't told the others the specifics of - and came to warn Cat about it. Yet the Nostrums told her what they planned in the first place, knowing she'd raised Cat for the past year, and assuming she'd be fine with having him killed anyway.
Then again Cat's own sister was perfectly fine with Cat being sacrificed, so it's not a far leap of logic at all to think his guardian would be either.
And yet Mr. Nostrum had Cat's postcard to Mrs. Sharp, using Cat's signature to track his movements, and there's only one way he could have gotten it.
And Cat isn't even sure if Mrs. Sharp isn't there or if he just didn't see her.
I know we refer to Newsies as the broadway equivalent of a boy band, but have you ever seen a performance of Mrs Sharp?
Megan Hilty - Out of My Mind.
Stop stop stop your flawlessness. It's rude to be so awesome.
