Sherlock Highschool AU
Requested By: Anon Made By: Mrs. Holmes A/N: I hope this meets your Sherlock high school AU needs! Enjoy! P.S: sorry if there are any mistakes, I am currently in a car driving through Pennsylvania so there may be a couple issues, I tried my best to read through it and fix anything I could! :) Warnings: Mention of bullying. Rating: PG ---------------------------------------------- "Where's John?" You ask curiously as your best friend, Sherlock, walks up to you. He was wearing his usual school uniform with the strap of his messenger bag over his shoulder. "Still speaking to Mrs. Halt." Sherlock tells you, then ruffling his black curls, you smiled at this. "Does he realize school's over?" You joke, walking alongside Sherlock to the hallway that holds your lockers. "He fancies her." Sherlock says, walking to his locker first to grab his things while you waited for him. You laugh, "Isn't she married with a child?" Sherlock nods, a slight smile on his face as he grabs his English textbook and puts it in his bag. "She hates me." Sherlock remarks. "Most of the teachers hate you, you're smarter than all of them." You tell him honestly, smiling about how the teachers all sighed whenever Sherlock went into one of his monologues. "I have detention with Mr. Ket Saturday for correcting him an astonishing 32 times during his class." He tells you proudly. Your smile widened and you patted his back with praise as he closed his locker and then turned to follow you to your locker so that you could get your things. You walked across the hall to your locker and opened it while Sherlock leaned against the other lockers next to yours. As you grabbed your science book you could hear snickering behind you, so you turned. You saw a collection of about six girls all chuckling and looking in your direction. That was the third time today. You frowned but decided to turn back to your locker, you didn't want to cause a scene or make it any worse. Sherlock noticed easily and gave you an odd look, "Are you okay?" He asks. You looked to him and sighed as you saw his emerald eyes, you instantly felt better. You nodded slightly and then turned back to your open locker, wanting to get out of the school as quickly as possible. "Your house?" You ask him, throwing your bag over your shoulder and closing your locker. "Mycroft will be home." He says bitterly, keeping a fast pace as you both approach the exit of the building. "We'll ignore him." You respond easily. "He's rather hard to ignore." "Sherlock, it's easy. All you have to do is not speak to him." You smile, finally leaving the building and turning right, following the route you usually took to Sherlock's house. He smirked at you, changing the subject. "Do you think John will know to come there?" He asks you. "We always go there, he'll know." You guarantee. Sherlock nods. You continue to walk side by side, your hands occasionally brushing against each other but you both ignored it easily, carrying on the path to Sherlock's house. "Will you tell me what happened earlier?" He asks curiously. You turn to look at him, not sure what he was talking about. "What happened earlier?" You ask. "At your locker, you were sad." He says awkwardly, clearly not knowing how to explain it. "I wasn't sad." You say. "You looked sad." "It was nothing." You tell him, trying to get rid of the discussion. "Was it those girls?" He pushes. "No." You lie, but you knew it was hopeless, Sherlock had already figured out what was going on. "You're lying." He says simply, seeing right through you. "I'm not." You continue, standing your ground. "You're supposed to tell your friends things. At least that's what John said." He points out. "I am telling you things." You say. "Not the truth." He retorts. "Forget it." You say, looking straight ahead and not in his eyes, you knew if you looked at him you would probably say everything. "But you looked sad." He continues. "People get sad! It's a normal emotion!" You exclaim, turning onto the street where he lived. "It's not a good one." "People get sad." You repeat. "I don't like it when you get sad." He says, his voice awkward again. You didn't say anything, in fear of saying everything. Instead you quickened your pace and tried to get to the house sooner. You sighed in relief when you could see it in the distance, it was easy to spot. Three stories high and extremely elegant, even on the outside. The inside was even better. You practically ran to the house, Sherlock following at a normal pace. When you reached the entrance you opened the door, immediately seeing Sarah, Sherlock's maid who basically raised him. She was polishing some expensive China that was held in a large wooden and glass case near the door, it's purpose to be displayed and adored. "Hello darling!" She says happily, hugging you kindly. Sherlock entered the house next, also receiving a hug. "Your brother is in the living room, he's working on some school work." She informs us, sending one last motherly smile before returning to her work. Sherlock was the first to start to walk away, turning to go to the stairs and obviously trying to take a route where we wouldn't have to encounter Mycroft. The two of you climbed the marble staircase silently, going all the way up to third floor where his bedroom was. He opened the door for you, letting you in first. You smiled at the familiarity of the room and instantly went over to his bed to lay on it. You threw your bag on the floor as you laid down across the bed, your legs hanging off the edge of the bed. You put your arms on your sides and felt the plush white comforter. You looked at the wall ahead of you and smiled as you saw Sherlock's framed periodic table along with several awards sitting proudly on his cherry wood dresser. He threw his bag on the ground as well, then laying down next to you, putting his hands on his stomach and crossing them, looking straight up at the ceiling. You were both silent as you laid there. You started to close your eyes, Sherlock certainly wouldn't mind if you napped, since you did almost everyday you came to his house after school. "Are you angry with me?" Sherlock asks quietly, sounding worried. "Hm?" You ask, barely opening your eyes. "Are you angry with me?" He repeats. "No." You say. "Are you sure?" "Yeah." You confirm. The silence returned for a couple minutes, you took the opportunity to close your eyes again, resting. "You shouldn't pay attention to them." He says suddenly, making you jump slightly. "To who?" You ask curiously. "Those girls." He says sleepily. You opened your eyes wide and turned your head to look at him, his eyes were closed. "What girls?" You ask dumbly, this was not a subject you wanted to talk about. "You know what girls." He tells you. "I don't really want to talk about it." You admit, seeing no way out of it. "You don't have to." He says, you smiled in relief but it soon faded when he continued on speaking. "Just listen to me." You didn't respond, so he carried on. "I don't like people. I don't like them and I thought I wouldn't like you. The only person I liked was John, and he told me to trust him when he introduced me to you. So I did. I immediately thought you were different than everyone else, smarter, funnier. Prettier." He says, starting a monologue. You felt a blush creep up to your cheeks. Prettier? Sherlock had never, ever, called anyone pretty in the entirety of your four year friendship. You were actually convinced he was asexual, but that didn't stop you from finding him heart wrenchingly attractive. "I remember talking to you for the first time and how you were affected every time someone looked at you, I could tell you thought they all believed they were thinking rudely of you. I didn't know how to talk to anyone except John and talking to an attractive girl was even harder. John chuckled every time I stuttered trying to speak to you. But you didn't even notice, you just kind of looked at me and smiled." He says, his eyes still closed as he spoke. You admired him as he told you the story, you didn't have any idea where he was going with it but you certainly enjoyed it. "I remember when you went shopping and I offered to go with you. You were embarrassed to shop around me and I didn't know why, I just thought you felt awkward shopping around a boy. But then I saw you were covering the sizes on your clothes, you even caught me staring at your hand and you blushed and rushed away into a dressing room." You felt your blush redden, how could he remember that? A familiar sick feeling entered your stomach and you tried to make yourself disappear as he recalled the memory. "I was really confused, and I don't get confused." He points out, you weakly chuckled at this, feeling like you were going to vomit at any second. "I remember the face you would make whenever someone laughed near you, not at you, just near you. You thought it was about you and you had this permanent frown, it's one of the worst things to see you sad. I don't really know why, I don't exactly understand it." He says slowly. You screwed your eyes shut, what was a sweet speech was turning into a nightmare of re-living memories. "My point is, you're the only girl I ever thought was beautiful and you should know you're beautiful." He finishes. You opened your eyes, pretty and beautiful? Were you dreaming? Had you fallen asleep on Sherlock's bed and dreamt up this speech of things you wish he would say to you? "Beautiful?" You asked, confused. "I believe I said that, yes." He smiled. You let out a laugh and scooted closer to him, putting an arm over him and placing your head on his chest in an attempt to hug him while laying down. At first he was frozen, but once he relaxed he took an arm and wrapped it around you comfortably. "I didn't know you could be that sweet." You tell him quietly. "I can have emotions." He jokes, making you smile and then close your eyes in relaxation. After a couple minutes you could hear the door open but didn't open your eyes, too relaxed to attempt to do anything. "Ready to work on-" John's voice sounds in the room as he walks in. You opened your eyes reluctantly and saw John standing in the doorway, staring at you and Sherlock with an expression of amusement on his face. "When did this happen?" He asks, grabbing Sherlock's desk chair and sitting in it, throwing his bag on the floor. "About ten minutes ago." Sherlock mutters. "Looks like Mycroft owes me ten pounds." John says, pleased with himself as a smile reappears on your face. "John, you know those girls, the bunch that always hangs together?" Sherlock asks suddenly. You looked up to him, your brow furrowed in confusion. "There's a lot of those." John responds, just as curious as you were. "The main one, they've been messing with our Y/N." He says bitterly, your eyes widened. "They have?" John asks, surprised. "Yes, I'll need your help letting it slip to the principal that two of the six of them are sleeping with the same teacher." Sherlock remarks. You and John both gasped at the news, two out of the six of them?! Sleeping with a teacher?! "How the hell did you know that?" John asks, astonished. "Will you help me or not?" He asks John, ignoring his question. "Of course, what do I do?" John asks, sending me a worried look as I tried to look anywhere but the two of them. "Call the administration, I'll gather some proof." He directs. John instantly stood and left the room, leaving to go follow Sherlock's request. I sat up after he left, Sherlock did the same and I looked at him. "Why did you do that?" You ask him, anxiety rushing through your body. "Because I love you." He says simply, standing and straightening his uniform professionally. You stared at him, your jaw slack while he smirked at you and extended his hand for you to grab it. "Would you like to help us or not?" He asks smoothly. You grabbed his hand and smiled, letting him lead the way. "I love you too, you know." You smile at him, intertwining your fingers with his. "Well, of course you do." He smirks, leaning forward to kiss you on the cheek before leading you out of the room and down to John to help Sherlock with his plan. ~
