Day 10. Rhythms rumble. Only for the brave.
Day 9. “Indeed the safest road to Hell is the gradual one--the gentle slope, soft underfoot, without sudden turnings, without milestones, without signposts,...Your affectionate uncle, Screwtape.” - Screwtape Letters by CS Lewis.
Day 8. A few simple ingredients form this sketch which takes me back to 1992 at Finch Station. It wasn't uncommon to get 'taxed' or 'rolled' (robbed) while waiting for the bus. I had a Georgetown Starter hat which was a prized possession. An older kid approached me, sent by his peers. He said: My friend over there wants your hat. I've never been asked to hand over my hat, usually it's just snatched off your head. So this approach caught me off guard. I blurted out: Tell him, I'll give it to him in a minute. He must have been caught off guard by my answer, because he shrugged his shoulders and went back to his people. I could see their pack leader giving shit to the guy who tried to roll me...as I sat comfortably on a bus, pulling away from the platform. My Georgetown hat...still on my head.
Day 7. Thomas Merton was a Trappist monk with an interesting life. You should read about it in his book: The Seven Storey Mountain. It was the inspiration behind tonights sketch by the same title.
Day 6. On the Polish version of Family Feud, a man was asked which school object is least useful in life. He replied: "Sandwich" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7hE7YgycajM
Day 5. A rework of Tom Waits' Way Down In The Hole.
When I first came to Kanada, the first thing I looked for on the streets is the Chevy Caprice Classic. It's because we didn't have them in Poland, but I kept seeing them in car chases in American films on VHS. This song is dedicated to the Caprice Classic. And coming to Kanada. In 1988.
Day 2. A moody, mesmerizing and menacing crackle filled cut sampling The Diary of a Taxi Driver from the soundtrack.
