Have these people not watched Hbomberguy’s video on virtue signaling? Because this is basically just that. It doesn’t matter what somebody’s intent is, if they say something true, it’s still true. Two, you can’t know somebody’s intent. Three, once you invoke it, you grant that it’s wrong to criticize things to make make oneself look good...but you’re doing the very same thing, just to an argument, not a piece of fiction or the like.
What Mikaila is doing is like what right wing jackasses do when they invoke the virtue signaling argument. People who do this don’t have any meaningful argument. It’s not just lazy and inaccurate, it’s overdone.
