it’s only really excessive if you’re asking people to tag triggers on something that just gives you a mild emotion. a severe negative emotion (such as panic attacks, serious anger or depressive episodes etc) would warrant a trigger i think
aaaa thank you. it's nice to have validation and confirmation from friends (so far i have two haha)
ms-spyro replied to your post:Is “aggression trigger” a thing, can I use it...
as far as know, a trigger is anything that causes a certain reaction, which is why phobias that induce panic attacks are described as “phobia triggering” or such. you can have “happy triggers” or other emotion triggers, so i don’t think it’s an issue
Oh, you mean like phobia of blood and gore? That makes sense.
Yet, I am reluctant to use the word "triggering"... I mean, I know that technically it just means "something that induces a reaction", but these days it's mostly used to describe someone who gets a panic attack from certain things, and people who use the word "trigger" wrongly and excessively usually gets smack for doing so, which I totes understand, because there's a huge difference between having a panic attack and being uncomfortable...
You're right, though, I guess I technically do have aggression triggers, or something like that. Far be it from me to even remotely try to relate to people with panic attacks, though; I have no idea of what that might be like, but I imagine it can't be pleasant at all.
