For the character headcanon thing: Raven?

1: sexuality headcanon

Raven is one of those characters I think doesn’t label simply because it’s too hard for her. All those words, all those explanations, none of it makes sense to her, and she’s not invested enough. She’s fallen for a few different people of different genders. That’s all she knows. She’s glad the word “queer” exists, because it’s easier to say than all of this.

2: otp

Poly STR/STR Crossed Lovers/Poly Parents. Summer/Raven/Taiyang is such a brilliant ship and I have adored it for literal years. Something about what we know about their characters, how everything went together, how the details are held back about how Taiyang moved on from one to the next. The way the show (V5) and the DC comics showcase Summer and Raven’s relationship. It all just feels right to me.

And I love it to pieces. And now that we’re learning more about Summer, it still fits so well?? God I know it’s not canon but it’s got that feel of being possible for canon, you know? Also it was my first poly ship in RWBY and I refuse to give it up.

3: brotp

Qrow and Raven’s relationship is something that was much better in school and I think they could have had such a great brother/sister friendship going on. And in AUs, I write them as having a great friendship and sibling bond.

4: notp

Raven’s really good for some weird, self-indulgent villain content because of who she is in canon. I mean obviously I am not okay with her with Qrow (though Raven and Qrow are the only siblings in media that can date the same guy at the same time and I don’t get freaked out by it, as evidenced by Twenty One Candles), because that’s gross, and I’m sure there’s plenty of stuff that just doesn’t exist that I’m not okay with. But other than that, I can’t think of anything?

5: first headcanon that pops into my head

Raven really enjoys singing. She doesn’t belt out music like Qrow, or boogie like Taiyang, or even do karaoke, like Summer. Instead, she enjoys soft lullabies. They’re so dark, but so good. They feel like they have purpose to them. Like they warn against darkness and teach children the truth of the world, disguised as something soft.

It calls to her.

6: one way in which I relate to this character

I, too… I got nothing. She’s broken and tired and terrified and trying to run while pretending she’s not a coward. That’s just relatable in general.

7: thing that gives me second hand embarrassment about this character

Uhhh. Nothing, really. Just second hand SAD.8: cinnamon roll or problematic fave?

I think Raven might be the literal definition of a problematic fave.

five most influential books over your lifetime.

Fanfiction Counts Too:

Harry Potter, as with most folks my age (and oh lord, a mountain of fanfiction along with it)

When I was around age 13, I read a fic called “Tumbling Down” by an author called Fire_Tears. It was a fic for a rare-pair in the One Piece fandom and I loved it. I had a printed copy of it. I read it daily. It had exceedingly good pacing and an excellent (if horrific) conflict driving the plot, and both pushed me to figure out how to write as well as that author did. It’s also a mostly miserable fic with a mildly unhappy ending, which explains my love for similar works. I read this fic again recently and it’s still good—it was maybe something I shouldn’t have been reading at 13, but honestly, I could do a whole write up on it even now.

James Joyce’s Ulysses, but sort of indirectly. The book itself impacted me, but what really made it influential was the capstone course I took on it my last semester of college. It was the first class I’d gotten to take that focused on a single author (aside from Shakespeare). We also read Dubliners, Portrait, and some of Joyce’s letters as well, and talked about his life and his worldview just as much as his actual works. my professor was clearly passionate about Joyce in that wonderful way some professors have, the way that makes students love the subject too, and it really encouraged me to do all this work about Hirsch. it’s the same kind of passion, I think.

The same author who wrote “Tumbling Down” wrote another fic for the same fandom and pairing called “Fifty Sentences About One Thing”. It’s one of those LJ style prompt fills, where short blurbs of fic are written in response to a list of 50 to 100 words or phrases. this work taught me to use semicolons. this work is arguably the reason my professors in college would later tell me my sentences were too long and that I’d better shorten them. “Fifty Sentences” still holds this influence over me today.

I'd argue that because Steve believes in laws he is LG. Following all laws regardless of their justness/unjustness is a LN thing not LG. An LG will fight for good/just laws and against unjust/bad laws. While CG doesn't believe in laws are useful.

Sorry for the ask it's just as an LG myself it gets kind of annoying when ppl don't think LGs just go along with injustice cause it's the law. (Also upon remembering to separate comic and mcu Steve I'd actually change my alignment choice to Neutral Good for Steve.)

Nadine/Rafe or Knot/Orca!

Nadine/Rafe:

Who is a night owl: Rafe, without question. He’s always working on his computer up late. 

Who is a morning person: Nadine, she exercises and figures out her entire day.

Are they cuddlers: On occasion. Rafe sleeps on his side, so Nadine will sometimes hold him in the night. If not, Nadine likes to sleep on her belly, so Rafe will press himself against her back. 

Who is the big spoon and who is the little spoon: Rafe wants to be big spoon but usually Nadine is.

What is their favourite sleeping position: Rafe on his side with a leg thrown over Nadine’s hips and Nadine sprawled out on her stomach with hands under the pillow.

Who steals all the blankets: Rafe, he’s a heat sucker.

What they wear to bed: Nadine wears casual things like shorts, she enjoys sleeping mostly nude too (although only on rare occasions, since she doesn’t want to be caught off guard). Rafe wears whatever he wants, sometimes he’ll fall asleep dressed in his day clothes, but mostly wears fancy pjs. He grew up sleeping in fancy pjs so it’s like second nature to him, even if Nadine gives him shit sometimes. 

Who likes seeing the other wearing their t-shirt: Nadine likes seeing Rafe wear her things, like her Shoreline shirts.

Who falls asleep mid-conversation: Rafe, he mumbles along but just nods off.

Who wakes up in the middle of the night with nightmares: Both of them.

Who accidentally punched the other in their sleep: Rafe, and Nadine will retaliate in her sleep.

Who can’t keep their hands to themself: Nadine, she’s very tactile. Even in her sleep she finds herself touching at him.

Knot/Orca:

Who is a night owl: Orca, he likes being up late when he can stand outside and smoke in peace and quiet.

Who is a morning person: Knot, but like ungodly early. It drives Orca mad. Knot however, will get pissy if he’s woken up early on a sleep-in day.

Are they cuddlers: Kind of, they both are pretty dead when they hit the bed at night. They’ll cuddle when watching a movie or something, but they don’t really acknowledge it as cuddling. 

Who is the big spoon and who is the little spoon: They switch, but Orca will manhandle for big spoon position. 

What is their favourite sleeping position: Orca is a back sleeper, hands partially above his head. Knot on occasion will slide up under his arm and use Orca’s chest as a pillow.  

Who steals all the blankets: Rarely, Knot will. He’s more prone to kick them off and piss Orca off in the middle of the night. 

What they wear to bed: Knot wears ratty shirts and shorts, if not butt ass naked. Orca wears shorts/sweats and no shirt.

Who likes seeing the other wearing their t-shirt: Orca. He thinks it’s weirdly cute, never mentions it above a fond shoulder punch.

Who falls asleep mid-conversation: Orca, he can’t handle Knot’s 2am ramblings. 

Who wakes up in the middle of the night with nightmares: Both, but Orca more often. 

Who accidentally punched the other in their sleep: Knot when he stretches, neither noticed. 

Who can’t keep their hands to themself: Both will reach out and touch each other throughout the night. Sometimes it’s after a nightmare to calm down or just make sure the other is there.

Exandria. He never thought he’d miss the place as much as he did, with its cold and its rain and the blandness of its food, but… He sighs, and curls his hands a little tighter around the steaming cup of tea clutched in them, and tries to convince himself it’s Exandria he misses.
