Honestly, I’ll be surprised if Michael stays in Dean for more than 4 episodes. I’m sure if they forgot this spell, they’ll come up with some other way to get him out. Dean’s the emotional heart of the show. They can’t go too long without him or the show kind of falls apart.
I agree that Dean is the emotional heart of the show and in my opinion its main character. Most of the plots revolved around him and I feel he’s got the most character development and we’re given the most insights into him. (Which I love. I think Dean’s absolutely fascinating.)
So it makes sense that they can’t go on long without Dean being around (and I’m sure Jensen will be in all episodes, so we’ll at least see Michael) but I think it would be absolutely fascinating to see how things work in Dean’s absensce.
The show has, to date, always largely glossed over the periods of time when Dean was dead or demonic. We know Sam turns into a less savory version of himself, tossing morals into the wind and pushing away friends and family, getting people killed...
I’d love to see, for Sam’s character development’s sake, how he is coping now. As opposed how he did back in S10. I want to know if Sam actually grew in the last years. Especially since now Sam has a bigger support network. He’s got Cas (which he might push away again though, I haven’t forgotten it, Sam.)**, Jack and Mary, as well as Rowena and the Apocalypse version of Charlie and Bobby.
But while I hope they will make something good out of Dean’s absence and I’m excited to see Jensen’s acting, I also don’t want to miss Dean for too long >w<
** Why do all characters that claim to be Cas’ family always insist on pushing Cas away or punishing him for things that aren’t his fault though? :C
The One Where Cas is in Love with Dean’s Dick series by MsCaptainWinchester (rons_pigwidgeon)
Word Count: 5,600 (2 parts)
Summary: Castiel's boss is convinced that he would be perfect for her son, and is determined to get him to come to the Christmas party so they can meet. Castiel is still hung-up on his first and only one-night-stand. Or more specifically his dick.
Comments: 9/10. Hot pwp. As the title says, Cas is in love with Dean’s dick, and it leads to glorious semi-public sex.
Quick question: Does it count as ABO if only one of the characters has alpha/beta/omega characteristics? I'm writing a story where Cas is a feral alpha werewolf with red eyes and mating instincts, but Dean's just a regular human. Can I still count it? Thanks!
Yep that would work. We’ve had a few of those kinds of stories already. an’t wait to read it!
The Substitute by MsCaptainWinchester (rons_pigwidgeon)
Word Count: 36,365
Summary: Dean smells his mate one morning while getting his mail. He keeps smelling him in several different places, but never sees him. After months of smelling the mate scent without seeing his mate, Dean becomes cranky and begins to think he might go crazy.
Then one day, the scent walks into his shop with a car repair, and Castiel is nothing like what Dean thought he would be. They hit it off easily despite Castiel’s traditional upbringing, but there is one barrier to their domestic bliss: Castiel is betrothed to another.
Comments: 7/10. Pretty funny. Dean spends the majority of the fic being cranky as hell, but once they finally meet it all works out well. Cas starts out the fic as Dean’s mailman, then he becomes Dean’s son, Ben’s, substitute teacher. So Dean is smelling him everywhere.
Confessions of a Cam Boy by MsCaptainWinchester (rons_pigwidgeon)
Summary: Dean runs a cam show to pay his way through marketing school, but he's about to start an internship that he doesn't know will change his life. Watching Dean's show is Castiel's favorite way to wind down after a stressful day at Sandover Bridge & Iron. When Cas comes to work one day and finds his favorite cam boy setting coffee on his desk, he is completely thrown. Will Dean finish his internship without knowing his favorite viewer is his new boss, or will he be able to see through Cas' non-existent poker face and figure it out?
Comments: 8/10 it’s cute. It’s from Dean’s pov, and Dean slowly figures out who Cas actually is. I wish it’s from Cas’ pov though, if only for the hilarity of it. Not as much sexual tension as you’d expect from the summary, but there’s plenty.
Well, I’m at 17.5K as of tonight, so I’m plodding on! The research bogs this year were a little soggier this year than last year (didn’t think it could get worse than 1920s surgical manuals...) and held me up early on, but I think I’ve moved past that now. (Now, watch, I’ll find out that I completely misunderstood and hinged parts of the fic on impossibilities...)
I gotta say, this fic might have more action in it than anything I’ve ever written, and the bulk of that is right about to start, and I’m sort of nervous!
Anna’s Dad by MsCaptainWinchester (rons_pigwidgeon)
Word Count: 35,253
Summary: When Charlie talked him into joining the prom committee, Dean was not happy about it. He’s not even interested in going to prom, let alone planning it. But a meeting at committee chairman Anna Novak's house changes all that. When Dean meets her smoking hot dad, a punk gothic god covered in the most alluring tattoos, it alters his entire perspective. Now he’s hanging out with Anna all the time and finding every excuse to flirt with her gorgeous dad.
Castiel Novak swore off romantic relationships when his mate died a decade ago. Now he writes novels, throws lavish Halloween parties, and drinks with his fuck-buddy, Meg. When he meets Anna’s stunning friend, Dean, all his determination to keep emotions out of the equation goes flying out the window. Now it’s all he can do to keep his hands to himself in the face of relentless temptation.
Will Dean ever get to see how far down Mr. Novak’s tattoos go? Will Castiel get over his hang-ups and let Dean in? Or will they both go their separate ways without ever knowing if their explosive chemistry could be more than just a tryst behind the pool shed? Featuring sexist classmates, a champion robot named Leia, growly alphas, and a prom theme from Hell (er… Hogwarts).
Comments: 10/10. The sexual tension is amazing, and I love everything about it. There’s a lot of teasing, flirting, temptations, and guilt. Dean tries his hardest to get into Cas’s pants, and Cas tries his hardest to resist the jailbait. It’s awesome and amazing and just go read it. I cannot articulate how good it is. There’s some angst on both parts, Cas because Dean is young and his own daughter has a crush on Dean, and Dean because he doesn’t think Cas sees him as anything more than sex when they finally do have it, and he finds himself falling for him. It’s so good and so cute and it’s amazing. There’s smut and sexual tension and funny parts and prom and what more can you want?
