Hey TRC/CDTH fandom!!!! I have a question for you!
I just remembered that there is an Ouroboros on my version of Call Down The Hawk.
” the ouroboros or uroborus (/ˌ(j)ʊərəˈbɒrəs/, also UK: /uːˈrɒbərɒs/,[2][3]US: /-oʊs/) is an ancient symbol depicting a serpent or dragon[4]eating its own tail. “ It apparently stands for a few things, but the main thing it stands for is for everything being an endless cycle, the universe itself repeats itself, so do humans (example that i got from this video: “atoms combine to form molecules, which come together to form cells, they in turn, form tissues, and tissues form organs, which in turn form human beings, who come together to form civilizations, and so on and so forth” It represents an endless cycle, pretty much. There are more interpretations I believe, some of which can be found in the video I linked above. Now I wonder... How is this related to cdth? To Ronan? To the dreamers? What do you guys think? Do you have any theories? I’m very curious about what people think about this!!!!!!!!!!
Guys guys. Bookcon this year. Do you know how much I'm not trying to get my hopes up but I'm low key hoping CALL DOWN THE HAWK is going to be in ARC form there
the raven cycle + repetition [2/6] ↳ cabeswater [x]
... it was always very old and very young at once. It had always been and yet it was always learning itself. It was always alive and waiting to be alive again.
I love that my dad went straight from Blue Lily, Lily Blue to The Raven King with zero break in between. He then asked me how many books there are in the series. When I informed him that he was holding the last one, he said that four is a stupid number for a series of books and that it should be either three or seven. Poor thing isn't ready for it to end.
I feel you, dad.
stief knew what she was doing with that burning barn painting
“It's national siblings day so enjoy this video, which is basically the plot of my current trilogy https://t.co/oDzSTdHUTX”
was explaining this to the gf and realized the three Gilbert siblings map pretty nicely onto the Lynch brothers:
1) BDG is Ronan (he can talk to plants! also cutoff jean shorts)
2) Laura is Matthew (sunny, sweet, a lil weird and floaty but also the obvious darling -- oh and she and bdg are often doing [chaotic] stuff together)
3) Patrick is Declan (i feel like if i have to explain this then you haven’t read cdth and in that case you should just go do that)
Long rant under the read more line, so be prepared if you want to read it:
I’ve been having a horrible week. And yeah, it is all because of that one post wherein I didn’t realize the implications of one thing I said within the canon of the series I was talking about. Because the mentality on this site is to single someone out, single out one thing they’ve said, and deconstruct everything about them to fit the idea that making a mistake makes them somehow less of a good person. So here goes clearing the air, I guess.
1. I did not make a “distasteful joke” or something of the like. When I wrote the post, I did had absolutely no intention of joking about Adam Parrish’s abuse. I made the post and was done with it in the midst of what I can remember as being a really, really awful day in an awful week.
2. If you have something to say, come say it to me directly (send me an ask or something, please) rather than starting drama for the sake of starting drama.
3. The anon hate I’ve been getting is, frankly, uncalled for and deeply distressing. I don’t know if all of you would send this kind of hate to @maggie-stiefvater, or any author, if she had anonymous asks open, but I would assume (and hope) not.
4. Please don’t accuse me of supporting, romanticizing, or making light of abuse. I do not. No one deserves to be abused, there is no excuse for being an abuser, and that’s that. So one insensitively worded post doesn’t change my stance on this issue, end of story.
5. Not many people have, but if you’re going to say something about the drama/discourse/whatever you want to call it, say it to me. I don’t want anyone to feel unsafe because of me, and I would like to clear any malcontent if I can.
