Mermaid Tales Seaaon 2 episode 1 thoughts:
I know there wasn’t much actual animation in this episode BUT THE REGULAR MINECRAFT ROLEPLAY FILMING HAS IMPROVED SO MUCH! The way the camera moved was so fluid and the fast pace fight poses ARE SO MUCH MORE DYNAMIC THAN THEY USED TO BE, not to mention when Leif jumped off the ship and the others caught him! ITS SO COOL TO SEE THE IMPROVEMENT!
THE PIRATE OUTFITSS! IM SO HAPPY WE CAN NOW MORE ACCURATELY SEE OUTFITS AND CHARACTER DETAILS!
I forgot Zane was a sentient crab with an obsessed for “Shinies” lmao, but it’s very silly I love it,
Love the details on Caspian’s design, not much opinion on him as a character but I’m excited to see where his character goes.
Love the shenanigans they all get up to, trying to fix their ship and get money.
THE SEA MONSTER SCENE WAS SO SILLY, aphmau really tried to ‘Toothless’ the guy and failed, she’s so silly.
The detail of the multiple missing women posters on the walls of the port was very interesting.
I loved the siren song! IT WAS SO PRETTY! Also I did not expect ZENA TO BECOME LORE IMPORTANT, BECAUSE WHAT DO YOU MEAN SHE HAS A FUCKING REALM BREAKER.
Asch telling Aaron he’ll be sleeping with the fishes soon as an insult and Aaron going “we aren’t there yet” is so funny, and I enjoyed the swearing and silly jokes, it’s nice that they realize that the fans are a lot older now.
Extra ranting:
The MID characters being normal pirates in this world poses the question, are there normal modern versions of the demons in mystreet? What about MCD? Are they just more medieval demons, like MCD!Travis? Im curious how close the realms are, because all the previous realms we’ve seen, have had parallel versions of Aphmau and the others, but in MID, we only see Ava, who does look very close to Aphmau, but I was considering MCD to not connected to the MCD and MS alternate dimensions.
I do wonder, if Zane will somehow, end up getting a mermaid form, with crab claws, and end up falling for KC
