You Look Certain (I’m Not So Sure)
Made 2 Stray
Artist: Mount Kimbie Song: Home Recording Album: Cold Spring Fault Less Youth Ever since British duo Mount Kimbie released their sophomore LP, Cold Spring Fault Less Youth, back in May I can't ever find myself to stop listening to it. Their artistic blend of ambient jazz tunes mixed with dubstep textures just can't compare to anything out there. Now they have released a visual display for their opening track, Home Recordinga, directed by Anthony Dickenson. Oh and seriously, I caught them back in June at the Echoplex, hands down one of the best shows I've ever been to, their performance was insanely incredible. Check out some photos I shot that night here. AND, they're returning back to the Echoplex next month on the 23rd! Hell yeah, grab your tickets here cause you'll regret it if you don't!
What are you doing with your night? If you have a spare 5 minutes lying around then invest it in some Mt. Kimbie. Their new single 'Made to Stray' has been out for a while now, but it just recently got a film clip produced by Leif Podhajsky.
Make no mistake, the track is an absolute banger, but Leif's work almost steals the show here. Bringing to mind that infamous scene at the climax of 2001: A Space Odyssey, the film clip uses data moshing and colour bleeding to make one hell of a psychedelic visual trip.
Leif has also done work for Bonobo, Tame Impala and Foals on their most recent album releases. Check his gallery out here.
