#Repost @openhousenewyork with @get_repost My "Tech Vanitas" photographs in the MTA Lightbox Installation are included in this up-coming Open House NY tour of art in subway stations! See below for tickets. Yay! #techtimecapsule #mtaartsanddesign #publicart #jeanettemay #vanitas ・・・ MTA Arts & Design’s Percent for Art program oversees one of the largest and most diverse collections of site-specific public art in the world. 🎨 Join @mtaartsdesign @openhousenewyork to tour a series of older subway stations on the west side of Manhattan that have been restored, transformed, and upgraded with new artwork and design–including wayfinding, technology, lighting and structural upgrades that are providing a heightened experience for customers. We’ll explore these station enhancement elements with an emphasis on mosaic artwork commissioned by MTA Arts & Design. The subway tour includes stops at 86th St station with art by Joyce Kozloff, 72nd St station with art by Yoko Ono, 42nd St–Bryant Park station with mosaic art by Samm Kunce and lightbox photography by Jeanette May, and 23rd St station with art by William Wegman (pictures here). . . . Tour is March 3 at 11am. Tickets available February 11 at 8am. Visit OHNY.org/calendar for details. 📷: James E. Lee (at New York Cty) https://www.instagram.com/p/B8Y8QxLFzGT/?igshid=56xir7rx0pgj

Checking in on my public art pieces at the Central Ave, M Line, for the @mtaartsdesign station conservation team. We created 10 sets of windscreen panels in 316 Stainless Steel, installed in 2012 and exposed to the elements for the ages.
My sister traveling in the city, just sent me this. Still boggles me that this piece is zipping around underground. #mtaartsanddesign #subway #illustration @mtaartsdesign
