i think its safe to say "make the exorcist fall in love" is bad. after so many attempts to make its current man hating lesbian feminist villain unreasonable failed the manga has resorted to her being transmisogynistic to mikhail, but hes such an empty character it falls flat. the "crossdressing boy" obsessed with his own cuteness that the other members of the church are glad when on a video call his video cut out so they dont have to see him. When accused by a witch of having never suffered, he gets serious for a second before we are hit with the punchline that his terrible suffering is running out of conditioner. the joke is that he hasnt suffered, despite the story showcasing the homophobia and misogyny and abuse of the church, Mikhail has avoided it all. And he also shot down the idea of Leah becoming Grand Priest because shes a woman, obviously with the desire that he become grand priest (he doesnt), which makes it feel like the manga doesnt even really disagree Lisa's assessment of him as proof of the misogyny of the world.

But lisa saying him dressing as a woman with the power of a man is proof of misogyny is framed as bad and harmful, much more so than any of the members of the church being repeatedly uncomfortable with mik's appearance, which is always treated as funny. and the she kills him. and it all feels so empty because it never actually did anything with mikhail before this point. the story doesnt think lisa is bad because shes transmisogystic since other characters have been similarly transmisogynistic and it was treated like a joke. it thinks her transmisogyny is bad only because shes the one saying it, and shes a man hating feminist dyke. this manga is for tme feminists who think being a terf is when you hate men and the ideal transfeminine person never claims womanhood and never expresses any negative feelings.
