A man on youtube with a horribly annoying voice made a very good point that the reason the Final Fantasy set felt better and more like a magic set was because it focused on worldbuilding the FF settings and building the cards to fit the normal format of a set while the Marvel set is basically just going "LOOKIT THESE CHARACTERS!!! YOU LIKE THEM!!! BUY!!!"
I'm already unhappy that the next MtG set is Marvel for multiple reasons but the possibility of Literal Actual Nazi Red Skull getting a card is certainly up there
MTG Arena just announced that they are going to be able to have the digital editions of the Marvel set, and will backport the spiderman set into the game.
Which, cool. Unity between editions and whatever. I was significantly more hyped for Through the Omenpaths 2 than I was for Marvel, and Now want to play my Brawl Deck built around Withar, Cocoon Keeper. Yea, Mr. Negative is cool and all, but I like the in universe versions more.

I play MTG pretty casually but I gotta say, the new Marvel expansions using HYDRA as playable cards is in very poor taste imo. Marvel has so many fictional villains - why the fuck did they decide to include actual nazis??
