So, you're telling me, that with the end of New Capenna's story, after he had planeswalked away from New Capenna, Ob Nixilis already went back?
March of the Machine: Aftermath
What We Know After Story One
There are still Planeswalkers with sparks - Ajani planeswalked away shortly after the Invasion; the first story shows Chandra also has her spark.
As per "All Will Be One" Karn no longer has their spark, Nissa's spark is gone, Both Koth's and Teferi's faded away shortly after the Invasion ended.
There are indeed holes ripped through the fabric of the Multiverse. This is due to the Invasion Tree's branches and the sylex going off in the Blind Eternities. Both of these reasons are stated twice - near the beginning and the end of the story.
Either sparkless beings or potential planeswalkers can travel the portals. While on Zhalfir, what Nissa believed to be an Elemental Beast came through a portal. Teferi said it could be a planeswalker. Then, at the end of the story, Nissa and Chandra both walk through the portal.
So, we're basically back at pre-Mending/Planar Chaos times. Welcome to Magic the Gathering.
Nahiri reckons with the consequences of the Phyrexian invasion and the wreckage left in its wake on Zendikar.
March of the Machine: Aftermath
Story 2 - Beyond Repair
written by Emily Teng
---------------------------
This Aftermath story takes place on Zendikar and is centered around Nahiri, no longer a Planeswalker. It does a really good job at the end of setting up how we'll see Zendikar in the next return and how Nahiri will be used.
There is no such thing as a
there is only the point where the story stops being told.
