SEND ME A 👀 FOR AN UNPOPULAR ROLEPLAY OPINION
i’m kind of over roleplaying harry potter. i feel like *sniffs* i’m laying down *sniffs* a parent to rest bc honestly, hp rp raised me and i’m grateful for that. i just think that i personally grew out of that genre and over the years of playing certain characters and writing certain characters for rps that i’ve created, i’m pretty set in my ways about some headcanons that ( and this sounds so entitled ) everything but my headcanons is ooc to me. not to say that other people’s interpretations are invalid, it’s just not ... mine you know ? of course, i still like the concept of the world of harry potter, and i’d be open to writing original characters in that verse, however, actual canon / sometimes even semi-canon characters in canon timelines is a no from me dawg.
EDIT. I PUBLISHED THIS TOO SOON !!
not every character needs to be edgy. honestly it’s kind of exhausting to have to play against the same handful of unapproachable and one-dimensional e-boy/e-girl wannabe. and what i mean is ,,, give that character some depth. give that character a way for other characters to wedge themselves into . bc i’m all for realism when it comes to rping and it doesn’t make sense for my character to talk to urs when all urs does is flick cigarette ashes and roll their eyes. just make it make sense. rping is about give and take and if ur not bending ( even a little ) ur not going to get a lot of development in the conversation.
