Mud babies are the parasitic young of mudmen.
Normally residing within the hosts stomach and intestines, they leech and feed off whatever nutrients the host consumes to help fuel their growth.
As the parasites grow the host will experience an increase appetite as the parasites will be taking up and consuming most of whatever the host consumes. The host will also experience bloating to the abdominal area that will only get worse as the parasites get bigger.
In the end, eventually the parasites will reach their max size and become overly active enough to the point the distended stomach reaches its limit, and eventually flesh and organs will give away and burst open the hosts abdomen.
The parasites emerging from the viscera will immediately seek shelter and find a safe place to go through their metamorphosis into a mudman
