Okay but what if Sirius WAS Stubby Boardman? 👀
"I'm so bored," Sirius groaned, flopping down on a couch in James' room.
"You're also apparently allergic to shaving," James said, going over and rubbing his knuckles on Sirius' cheek. "You've gotten all stubby."
"Stubble-y," James corrected. "Look, some words are harder to say around a mouth of Fizzing Whizbees."
Sirius just groaned and flopped harder on to the couch.
"Just gonna accept your fate as a stubble-y, bored man?"
"What else is there to do?" Sirius sighed.
"Let me check," James said, going over to the window and yelling out, "DAD!! WHAT ARE WE SUPPOSED TO DO WHEN WE'RE BORED?"
"THANKS!" James yelled, then turned back to Sirius, "Alright, you heard the man. Let's go see what instruments are in storage."
"I can't believe we're doing this," Sirius said, getting off the couch.
"I can't believe we're actually doing this," Sirius said, waiting backstage for the first show of their tour.
"I can't believe you made your stage name Stubby Boardman." James said, grinning right beside him.
"Well, I could hardly let you go it alone after you chose 'Jolly Speckman' as a moniker."
"I can't believe people don't recognise you gits on stage!" Remus hissed from behind the both of them, scribbling frantically on his clipboard.
The entire process of getting signed, recording the album, and having it become an overnight hit in both the magical and muggle worlds had been such a blur that he felt more in shock from that than when they'd defeated Voldemort by pushing him in to an industrial woodchipper. Truly, Lily's ideas were hilarious and terrifying and there was no one he'd trust more with his life and as a drummer.
"Tremble in awe of the power of costuming!" Lily joked, twirling her sticks as she bounced on her toes.
"What if I get out there and I can't sing?" Sirius asked, briefly taken by stage fright.
"We'll throw you to the fans and mourn you later."
"That's Stargazer Redman for the next few hours."
"That's also all the time we have for nerves." Remus interrupted. On the other side of the curtain they could hear people chanting. Fans.
"I blame you for all of this!" Sirius hissed at James, starting to grin.
"Hey, at least we're not bored."
