Devon filmmaker Nick Cooke is working on a new film project entitled Muló a modern ghost story set within a Roma migrant shanty camp on London’s hidden fringes, and they’ve just launched the crowd funder.

At night something changes...

One week now until our second pitch for Film London (yes, we were quietly accepted into the next round!) Next up: Friday the 13th, unlucky for some! But we don't believe in unlucky 13.

According to wikipedia; 13 (thirteen /θɜrˈtiːn/) is the natural number following 12 and preceding 14.

13 also is a total of 1 Prophet and 12 Imams in the Shia school of thought. In Christianity there is 1 Messiah and 12 disciples.

The number 13 had been considered sinister and wicked in ancient Iranian civilization and Zoroastrianism.

It is the number of Witches in a coven and it's power is the power of 3, the maiden, the mother & the crone which equates with the trinity and the ancient Egyptian god Thoth also known in Greek as Hermes Trismegistus (thrice great). The number 1 resonates with the vibrations and attributes of new beginnings, creation, independence, uniqueness, motivation, striving forward and progress, ambition and will power, positivity and positiveness. Number 1 also resonates with the energies of pioneering, raw energy, force, activity, self-leadership and assertiveness, initiative, instinct and intuition. In a pentagram with a circle ratio of 13, each arm of the star equals 12.36, the number of lunar months, days and hours in a solar year. Add the arms together and you get the number of full moons in five years.

In Mesoamerican divination, 13 is the number of important cycles of fortune/misfortune.

Pitched to the panel today...

Today we pitched our idea to the Eastern Edge Film Fund, Film London.

Nervous and excited is probably best to describe our feeling while pitching and now waiting.

We're not going to say to much, but we do feel we did our best and despite what happens next we've really appreciated the development our project has received. Also new to the team is Zakiya Petty and we really appreciated the hard work and honesty she has put in so far.

Linda started the pitch by placing a few items left behind from when the Rroma camp was cleared a few months ago.

A dice that we assume has been hacked with a spade by the workmen who cleared the camp in October.

A broken scallop shell, a token of luck for the Rroma.

You'll also notice some ear plugs, to dampen the noise of the relentless A406, North Circular traffic.

Fingers crossed, we find out next week!

Keeping things moving...

The project is still in development but were keeping a twitter account updated with our progress. It's always good to get feedback and already we've had some useful comments and people just asking us more about the project.

Hearing our ideas voiced back to us has helped us realise where we maybe going wrong for example; Supernatural Docudrama, is a confusing term we coined and have now dropped. As intriguing as it first sounded...

Just a few days now until we pitch in the first stages of the Eastern Edge Film Fund, so were sounding our idea out a lot! We've been shortlisted along with seven other films (lots of nice ideas) but regardless what happens next the development with the Eastern Edge has been invaluable.

We'll let you know how it goes.

During a location recce we saw a horse drinking from the marsh water within the bounds of a local reservoir.

People, strangers, anybody in fact have a habit of just starting a conversation with Linda no matter where we are...

We pulled over to take photos of the horse minutes after a car pulled up and the window was wound down; "Disgraceful isn't it, that horse could trip and break it's neck or drown in that water".   Odd thing to say; they were pulling our leg though. It was their horse or their friends, they were from a near-by traveler camp.

Linda fed the horse some dog biscuits which it really liked as well as some sultana’s, which it loved!

We continue to map our local area for our film, hard to believe that you can stumble across such things so close to Central London.
