KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 8 — Atheists in Malaysia should be “hunted down” by authorities as there is no place for groups like this under the Federal Constitution, a minister said today.

Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Seri Shahidan Kassim said the public should aid authorities in locating groups like the Kuala Lumpur chapter of Atheist Republic so that action could be taken.

“The (Federal Constitution) does not mention atheists. It goes against the Constitution and human rights.

“I suggest that we hunt them down vehemently and we ask for help to identify these groups,” he said in a press conference at Parliament today.

The Arau MP added that most of these Malaysians especially Muslims turn into atheists as they lack religious education.

“They actually don’t want to be atheists but it happens because of the lack of religious education. They are misled with a new school of thought,” Shahidan said.

He also urged religious groups especially the muftis to help educate Muslims who have become atheists.

“We need to return them to the faith and correct their aqidah if they are Muslims. To all Mufti’s and state exco’s, take note,” Shahidan stressed.

A photo of the gathering by the Kuala Lumpur chapter, or “consulate”, has caused uproar from some in the Muslim community recently after it was highlighted by pro-Islamist blogs, leading to violent and death threats on social media.

Deputy minister in charge of Islamic affairs Datuk Dr Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki said yesterday Putrajaya will investigate the local group, even roping in the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission, as it allegedly involved the faith of Muslims in the country.

Atheist Republic has over a million followers and supporters on social media, with hundreds of “consulates” worldwide including in neighbouring Indonesia and the Philippines.

‘Revive your Heart’ by Nouman Ali Khan (review)

I recently read ‘Revive your heart’ by NAK this Ramadan, and I liked it so much that I decided to a review on the book. 

The book covers various issues that Muslims face in the real modern world, always in reference to a specific verse from the Quran in each chapter, always referring back to it and making the connection between the problem we face and what Allah has said about it, and revealing the hidden meaning we would have, otherwise, missed.

Also, you can hear Nouman Ali Khan talking while reading this book, mainly because, I think, some of the written text is actually from his undocumented lectures and talks.

The book is a source to reconnect with Allah and to form a connection that we need to revive as we are creatures of forgetfulness. If you’re looking for something to rekindle the fire within yourself, this is the book. The book covers topics of finance, ways to prosper as a community, contemporary issues (like howsome people react at the birth of a daughter, listening to music) and how to better our afterlife. 

He usually gives examples, and breaks down scenarios or relates the issues in the most simple way that we can relate to so the points really hit home.

In my opinion, the book does what it says. It revives your hearts, pulls you towards the love of Allah and makes you want to make a change. A very inspiring book and nicely written. Gets to the point and gets the message across.

Muharram 3rd: the arrival of Umar ibn Saʿd in Karbala 🖤🥀❤ Umar ibn Saʿd arrived in Karbala with a huge army on Muharram 3rd to confront Imam Husayn (ʿa)’s small army. On this day, Umar ibn Saʿd’s messenger came to the Imam and delivered his letter. As he gave Umar’s letter to the Imam he asked: “My master!
