Had a question about your Serial Killer AU. You said that Sun and Moon kill "Rulebreakers" or "the bad people" right? Or folks from their judgement they deem "bad"
I was wondering earlier today, how many mistakes have they made that they don't see as mistakes?
A father scolding their child a weeeee bit too harshly on accident?
An way older sibling teen teasing their younger sibling and being a bully, but genuinely coming from a loving place Sun and Moon can't see?
A starving person who steals some food around the pizzaplex?
Someone who breaks in for money cause they don't have anything else.
How nuanced are Sun and Moon's perspectives? Or are they warped as to what a "Rulebreaker" is?
Do they lose themselves?
Do they question if they get the "right" rulebreakers?
I don't think their judgment is fallible.
They are bound to make mistakes they don't even deem as mistakes.
my god i meant to answer this ages ago-
1~ The boys do extensive research to make sure no mistakes are made. They might be unhinged but they are still reasonable. All for the sake of the children. However, they have nearly made rash decisions in the past.
2~ In that incident they would do research. Is this a common occurrence? Does the father have a record? What is the relationship between father and child normally like? They look at these things before deciding if the parent is a Rulebreaker or not.
3~ They've dealt with kids of all ages during their time at the Superstar Daycare, and in turn have seen incidents where kids need to be picked up by older siblings. Siblings bully and tease, they did learn over time that this is something kids just do, and not every action has malintent behind it. And heck, even applied it to their own relationship. Sun and Moon tease and bully each other in a sibling manner. Plus, they still consider teens kids, and wouldn't target them.
4~ The pizzaplex is gone, destroyed by the fire, and they almost never go there anymore. This story isn't set anywhere near it.
5~ They would let the authorities deal with the break-in.
6~ To them, a Rulebreaker is defined as "anyone who is deemed a harmful and dangerous threat to a child or many children." It's both a vague and specific definition in their eyes.
7~ Oh absolutely. One of them often needs to be present to keep the other from going completely manic. Moon gets a little too into his torture so Sun has to reel him back. And same vice versa. However, there have been...incidents where they requested the other to not interfere...
8~ This goes back to their research, as they make sure there are no mistakes, as such mistakes would only bring more harm to the child they are trying to save. So they are pretty confident in their selection. Say in one case it's a parent; they understand the sudden loss will impact the child, but they fully believe in the long run they made the right choice and that in time the child will heal. Because they're here! They'll make it better! They'll get rid of the scary monsters!
They're nearly perfect. How else would they go undetected for over 15 years?
Until you show up~
