How did you become an anarchist, if you don't mind me asking?
Well, my parents were both union Democrats but they raised me very apolitical. I remember my mom once chastised me as a kid because I asked her who she voted for and she said you should never ask someone that because it’s private. So I didn’t really care much at all about politics.
In High School I got into Punk/Hardcore and was really into the subculture and non-conformity and all that. Then, I went to college and I became a Christian. I was hanging around some other kids who were homeschooled Christians and pretty straight down the line Republican conservatives but I was at a super liberal university in the suburbs of Chicago that was on the cutting edge of the woke campus stuff and was doing it all the way back in 2009-2012. So my punk non-conformist side started to really kick in and I jokingly would say, “Democrats are for big government and Republicans are for small government. Punk is for no-government and small government is closer to no-government so Republicans are more punk than Democrats.”
But then, in 2008 & 2012 Ron Paul blew up and I was like ah, this guy is the most punk. And he introduced me into the Libertarian world where I read Mises and Rothbard and just drifted more and more toward Anarcho-Capitalism.
So basically it was kind of a confluence of my Hardcore/Punk tendencies and my Christian faith that combined to make me super receptive to Liberty and then Ron Paul poured a bunch of gasoline on that fire.
