Nights in Mumbai city. Since Ramzan is on, we had been planning to go to Bohri Mohalla for kebabs, malpua, biryani, and so so much more. But the current Iran situation and its effects in India made us reluctantly decide against it, as Bohri Mohalla has a high Shia Bohri population. They're all mourning Khameini. Instead, we went to Ayub's at Kala Ghoda and had the most succulent rolls. How do they do it? They were too good.
I love nights more than I like days in general, but even more so in Mumbai, and here are some very good reasons why that is so.
Rajabai Tower inside the University campus, with the Dalal Street stock market building right behind. Vidya, Dhan, and Chandra.
Rajabai Tower, Mumbai University, Churchgate, as we waited for our Cityflo bus back home. Night bus rides are so relaxing, in sharp contrast to the extra brightness of day rides. Also, no traffic. We were in a state of near-uninterrupted flow from the time we got on to the point we got off.
When life is indeed black and white.
The High Court, Mumbai.
I think this is the Indian Railways head office at Churchgate.
This and the next few clicks are of the Taj Mahal Hotel, Colaba.
Mumbai is pretty, but I can't be here for extended periods of time. It gets to me. I've shifted out of it to a neighbouring district that lets me breathe, and I'm not talking in terms of AQI. But a night in Mumbai city should be standard recommendation to put joy back in your life, reset your heart, and calm you.
It's ironic that a city that disturbs me by day soothes me by night. Two-faced.
